Mental Health in Music Town Hall Discussion (April 2020)

Session Description: As a result of the developing COVID-19 pandemic, artists and industry workers alike are facing all-new threats to their sources of livelihood and support. While adapting alone to the financial implications of cancelled tours and record releases can prove to be mentally taxing, the weight of the virus’ potential social impact and the sudden enforcement of social distancing protocols provide additional challenges in their own right. At times like these, mental health and community support are of paramount importance. Join CIMA and the Unison Benevolent Fund as we host CAMH’s Dr. David Goldbloom and Catherine MacLellan on Wednesday, April 15th at 1 PM (EST) for a public webinar discussing tips and strategies to maintain mental health and preserve community during uncertain times.

COVID 19 Implications for Employers CIMA (April 2020)

Session Description: The COVID-19 pandemic is rapidly developing, with media coverage focusing on its public health, economic and societal implications. Employers have been thrust into reactive mode as they deal with the pandemic’s impact on the workplace, and many are perplexed about what they legally can and should do to respond, particularly given the Ontario government’s order that all non-essential workplaces close and evolving requirements and changes in the law.

CARAS x CIMA Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class Webinar (June 2020)


Session Description: The Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class is Canada’s premier artist development program offering emerging artists the opportunity to hone their craft and further develop their music careers through an intensive week of mentorship with Canadian music industry professionals and the chance to be part of the 2021 JUNO Awards weekend. The Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class presented by CARAS and Slaight Music was co-developed in partnership with Canada’s Music Incubator at Coalition Music.

Applications are now open and we want to provide an inside look at what the program is all about and how it has positively impacted past participants. What really goes on during the curated mentorship week? What doors can the program open for artists? How has it changed the career trajectory of those who have participated in the past?
